The Council will address those matters of mutual interest to all veterans, including retired, reserve, and National Guard, and may extend this interest to those matters related to active duty personnel as they may pertain to their status as veterans.
Full Membership. Voting membership is open to any and all formally organized Veterans/Veterans-Like Organizations that are Tax Exempt Non-Profit Veterans Organizations and to their affiliated organized subordinate units.
Associate Membership. Associate (non-voting) membership may be extended with majority approval of the members to such entities as the Veterans Administration, the State Department of Veterans Affairs, the City of Sierra Vista, Fort Huachuca, Bliss Army Health Center, and other Veteran Support Organizations.
The Council may wish to invite guests representing the federal, state, or local government or other entities with the understanding that those invited may discuss issues and not take political stands or promote the candidacy of themselves or others. There will be no threat whatsoever to the tax-exempt non-profit status of any member organization as defined herein.
All member organizations will have only one voice and one vote. Organizational representatives in attendance at a given meeting of the Council may vote for or against a proposal or may abstain if they believe the issue is in conflict with the position of their parent organization. The Chair or Vice Chair will vote in the event of a tie vote on matters voted on by the UVC member organizations. The Chair or Vice Chair will not vote on items sponsored by their nominating organizations.
