Mental health and substance abuse counseling.
I am pleased to let you know that I have opened an office at the Edgewater Medical Office Building in Old Saybrook. For those who don’t know me well, I am a graduate of the UConn School of Social Work and primarily work with adults who suffer from a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including depression, anxiety, and addiction. I take a highly personal, strengths-based, positive approach tailored to each client’s individual needs. I am also able to persuasively advocate for my clients as I hold a law degree. I have particular expertise in counseling men and couples. My experience includes several years at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Behavioral Health Center, in addition to working at the Hospital of Saint Raphael and the Wheeler Clinic where I did my field placements. At Charlotte, I used my expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to improve relationships and to assist clients gain focus and clarity in their lives. In addition to the above modalities, I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment therapy.
I also provide counseling in the following areas:
• Self-esteem/personal growth
• Life coaching
• Grief and Loss
Please note that in addition to weekday appointments, I am currently scheduling sessions on Saturdays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Wednesday evenings after 6:00 PM. Additionally, I accept HUSKY, Parts A, B, C and D, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Cigna and gladly assist clients in obtaining out-of-network reimbursement.
