Pony Haven Party Ponies serving the Wasatch Front in Utah offers rental and delivery of ponies for birthday parties, family reunions, church events, office picnics, corporate celebrations, fair, or carnival. Call for more information, pricing or to schedule a wonderful, fun filled experience for your next celebration. Pony Haven will deliver one or more gentle ponies to your location to use for three hours (3 Hour Bookings) and then will pick them up. Our rates depend on the deliver location.

Vern and Millie Strand and family decided to move from Salt Lake City to West Bountiful in 1948. The family wanted to be in the country so they could have horses. Before the Strand family could move, they had to build their home. The Strands used Shetland ponies to carry the bricks for their new home - a beautiful colonial style house.
When the family finally moved to West Bountiful, it was just fields with very few homes. The roads were dirt, and open creeks ran down both sides of their street. The home owners used the creek water for crops and livestock. Drinking water for homes came from wells.
After getting settled, Mr. and Mrs. Strand thought that starting a family business would help teach their children responsibility. Pony Haven was started by the Strand family in 1950.
While Vern worked for the government, Millie helped the children - Jerry, Mickey, Diane, and Rex - with the business. The children, with the help of their step-grandfather, Orem Ingram, built a frontier town on the property. The business quickly expanded into hay rides, and delivering the ponies to birthday parties, carnivals, grand openings, office parties, and other special occasions.
As the years passed, the country surrounding the family's home turned into a city. Many of the places that were used for taking customers on hay rides disappeared. Then, the family home burned down. The family was forced to rebuild. Because of the growth in the area, the city zoning ordinance required the frontier town to be taken down during the reconstruction.
Despite these setbacks, the children continued running the business of delivering the ponies. The Strand children started college; their tuition was funded by the business. The boys developed other interests. Diane married and started her own family, but she decided to continue running the business.
Diane loves raising the ponies. She has some of the neighborhood children help her with the training and delivering of the ponies. This has proven to teach the children responsibility and has given them a little spending money to boot. From the day the ponies are born, Pony Haven works with them, playing with and loving them. By the time a pony arrives at your party, they will have given hundreds of rides to children of all ages.
Meeting new people and helping make their special events a success, has kept the business interesting and challenging for Diane. Our slogan "Have pony will travel" was inspired by the late 1950s and early '60s T.V. series "Have gun -- Will Travel" featuring the benevolent Paladin played by Richard Boone.
