26 cyclists will ride from March 28-31, 2015 from Sandy Hook to the Capitol to remember all victims of gun violence.

26 cyclists will ride from Sandy Hook to the Capitol in March, 2015 in support of common sense legislation to reduce gun violence. We also ride to honor all of the victims of gun violence.

We support measures to help curb gun violence:

• "Finish the job" and require a background check on all gun sales;
• Limit magazines to 10 rounds;
• making gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for “straw buyers”; and
• providing protection when temporary restraining orders are issued in domestic violence cases;

We understand this issue is complex; but together we can ensure that specific actions are taken to prevent tragedies like those in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. Keeping children safe is an obligation we all share.

Q: Who are we?
A: The Team of 26 consists of professional and top amateur and masters cyclists from the Northeast. Our team includes a former Junior World Championships National Team member, US National Team member, Canadian National Team member, Masters Silver Medalist, Maccabiah World Games Silver Medalist, and State and Regional Champions. Three members of the Team are from Newtown, including Monte Frank, Bill Muzzio and Chris Peck. Two of our riders have children who went to the Sandy Hook School. Our team includes parents, teachers, and a Vietnam Veteran. We all care deeply about our children and seek reasonable gun violence prevention legislation.

Q: Are you looking for more riders?
A: The team is set. However, there will be certain segments where recreational riders can join us. Check back for more information.

Q: Is this a fundraiser?
A: Not really. This is a grassroots ride started by a Sandy Hook cyclist to advocate for sensible gun violence prevention laws. However, Team 26 is seeking to raise $10,000 to support the riders and their support crew (the cost for the ride is more). Please visit
