Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) provides transit service to riders between Beloit, WI and Rockford, IL. SMTD "provides a vital link" in mass transit service. The SMTD service area includes South Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe, and Rockton Township.

Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) provides transit service to everyone, young and old, between South Beloit, IL and Rockford, IL. (SMTD provides a vital link between the Rockford and Beloit transit services areas, but does not services the Beloit area.) This is an on-call service to registered participants. Registration is easy! Just call 877-561-3330 (TTY 815-961-0072) and we will mail a registration form to you. Forms can also be picked up at South Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe, and Rockton Township Village Halls.

The SMTD service area includes South Beloit (IL), Rockton (IL), Roscoe (IL), and Rockton Township (IL), providing a vital link between the Rockford and Beloit (WI) transit service areas. Clients may ride anywhere in the service area, and can connect with the Rockford Mass Transit transfer spot at the Target store on Hwy. 173 or at the Beloit Transit transfer center at 225 Shirland Ave., adjacent to Beloit City Hall. SMTD also provides special service stops to businesses along the 173 corridor.
