At Stony Hill Ranch we treat you and your horse like the individuals you are. We founded this property after years of frustrated searching for the place that would fully respect us, our horses, and our passion to have our horses live the way horses should. So that's our pledge to you.

Your horse will live outside in fresh air, under sun, clouds and moon, will eat fresh green hay whenever they want, and always have water (warm and soothing in the winter). When they have to come in, they will find clean stalls, bedded with mats and thick shavings, supplied with all day / all night hay and plenty of water.

When we handle your horse, we will know that horse as we know our own horses and we will help however needed. We'll keep your horse's ground discipline sharp so that when you come to work or play, you will find your horse hasn't forgotten the rules.

When you come to ride, you'll come to a well-groomed indoor and outdoor arena, and on-property trails that range from beginning to hard intermediate. There's a heated tack room so you can get warm and keep your bits warm too. And, of course, an actual bathroom for when the need takes you - or if you just want to wash your hands or spot clean your horse.

If you come for training, you will find a compassionate, systematic approach that builds the triangle of physical, intellectual and emotional capability in your horse, on the ground and under saddle, with a focus on your goals for you and your horse. We know the sensitivity of horses and the subtle signals of their body language that tell us when they are happy or worried or just need a break - and we respect those signals. We work to help them get past their stress and worry so they can focus on their training. If your horse is being trained for trail, they go out day and night, in sunlight, moonlight and total darkness. They will be despooked and will be able to handle flats, hills, forest edges, scrub, blacktop, gravel roads and water crossings - all without leaving the property.

And if you come for instruction, we will work with you to make sure we are focused together on your goals, and make sure you and your horse are positioned one step at a time to get there.
