Swannanoa Chamber Music Workshop

A chamber music playing opportunity for dedicated, avocational musicians. Located on the campus of Warren Wilson College near Asheville, North Carolina.

Welcome to the Swannanoa Chamber Music Workshop Community! Adult amateur and professional musicians come to our workshop to enrich their understanding of the chamber repertoire, to expand their musical potential through performance and to open doorways to new and lasting friendships. The faculty at Swannanoa are all world-class performers and will coach participant to achieve progress toward excellence in an informal, supportive atmosphere.

Program Schedule.
Each day, participants will have a different ensemble assignment with players matching their level of experience. Daily seminar performances by all participants will follow supervised morning and afternoon rehearsals, which are scheduled from 9:00am until noon, and from 1:00pm to 2:45pm. Guests are welcome to attend the daily seminar performance at 3:00pm. After dinner, participants are at liberty to freelance. New assignments for the the next day are posted after dinner. A master class for each instrument will be offered one evening during the week. We are accepting day players (commuters) at $395 for the week. These participants must commit to the complete program.

WARREN WILSON COLLEGE - Located in the Swannanoa River Valley on the east side of Asheville, North Carolina. Warren Wilson College is a small campus affording easy and convenient access to all its buildings. HOUSING - The workshop participants will be housed in Schafer Hall, one of the new dormitory complexes. the room rates are different for single or double occupancy.

MEALS - Meals are at the modern College Cafeteria, which features locally grown meat and produce, a regular salad bar and vegetarian entrees. Lunch may be purchased by Day Players for $6 per day.

MUSIC BUILDING - Studios and classrooms are available for the exclusive use of the workshop for the week. Individual practice rooms are also available. Daily recitals will be held in Kittredge Auditorium. Secure facilities for instrument storage are provided.

COSTS - Tuition plus single room and board, $695. Tuition plus shared room and board, $595. Refundable key deposit $20. Tuition only (for day players) $395.
