The Sandy Hook Angel Project

These angel ribbons have been made by Sandy Hook residents in memory of the lives lost on 12.14.12.

Shari Burton, a teacher's aide at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and Krista Halstead, whose mother also works at the school, designed these angel ribbons a few days after the tragedy for the families, faculty and staff as a gesture of healing and remembrance. As the requests for the ribbons continued to grow, many friends and family members have joined in on the project spending hours at a time on many occasions lending a helping hand.

We would like to thank everyone for the generous donations of supplies that we have received that have been helping us keep our project going!

We would also like to thank everyone for their patience as making these ribbons is a timely process and we are doing our absolute best to get to everyone's orders, we love the support and cannot wait to see it all around the country

During the Sandy Hook Elementary School vigil, attended by President Barack Obama, Shari and Krista's Angel Ribbons drew much attention. They were only intended for the families of the school but very quickly secret service agents were requesting them, then news anchors and public figures. The NBC Associated Press story described the ribbons and the ABC news anchors wore them the next day. Overnight there were requests from all over the country for the "green and white ribbons with the angels in the center."
