A NYC based, all female Shakespeare ensemble.
The Tempest Ladies is a group of bold and brassy women, each with a passionate heart for Shakespeare. Currently based out of NYC, The Tempest Ladies formed in the fall of 2008 while the girls were studying abroad at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London. Back in the states, the ladies wanted to continue growing in their love for Shakespeare, so they produced, directed and acted in their own flagship production of 'The Tempest.'
Playing mainly male characters and switching roles continuously throughout the show, the ladies have a unique vision and style that have made each of their runs a rare and delightful treat for all audiences.
Since their first production in a small black box in Syracuse NY, the ladies have performed in
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland
The Sevgi Gonul Theatre Festival, Turkey
The APAP Festival, NYC
The Players Theatre, NYC
The Roy Arias Theatre, NYC
SAHNE Theatre, Istanbul Turkey
Robert College, Istanbul Turkey
Molly's Cafe, Istanbul Turkey
Gramercy Arts High school, NYC
The Tempest Ladies are currently in rehearsals for their upcoming production of 'The Taming of the Shrew.'
