Founded in 1980 after the death of Wilbur Ware, we became a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in 1983. We were incorporated in Pennsylvania and obtained authority to operate in New York State in 2009.
We will establishing a Saturday Jazz Exposure Program that focuses on the history or jazz, workshops and seminars, as well as hands-on experience with and performance by jazz masters. Students will be chosen from elementary, middle and high schools.
We have reorganized for 21st Century programming that serves to promote and enhance the professional lives of primary jazz masters, neglected youth and young musicians, and involve the full community of jazz lovers participating in what is now officially recognized as a National Treasure, "America's Gift to the world of Music."
